The head of the Petroleum Industry Health Organization (PIHO) has dismissed rumors of any plan to scrap service fees for physicians.
"The basis for the payment of service fee at PIHO is the instruction issued by the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medial Education," Habibollah Samie said.
He touched on differences in payment regimes at the Ministry of Petroleum and the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, saying: "PIHO is making efforts and the Ministry of Petroleum has insisted that payments must be consistent with the instructions of the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education."
"During recent meetings, the agenda discussed by PIHO directors and senior managers of the Ministry of Petroleum, there has never been any word on scrapping service fees. There have only been some changes to modify this instruction in accordance with the plan on changing health procedures and ministerial regulations, which finally became a comprehensive and updated directive," said Samie.
He expressed hope that the instruction would in the near future win approval and be communicated to relevant bodies.
